About C.R.O.S.S.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the CROSS website.

The registered charity CROSS is an acronym for Cancer Research of the Oesophagus and Stomach at St James’s Hospital. The charity is a focal point for cancer research that is undertaken at the Institute of Molecular Medicine located in the Trinity (College) Centre at the Hospital. A significant element of the research programme relates to prevention and treatment of oesophageal and stomach cancer, but the Centre also undertakes research in cancer of the breast, colon, rectum and lung.

The goal of the website is to provide information on the cancers that we study, on all aspects of the research, on the outcomes and impact of our research, particularly studies funded through CROSS, and on breakthroughs in cancer research from other international centres. At this time the Trinity/St.James’s Hospital research group has published well over 100 research papers in international journals. With funding through CROSS and from successful competitive grants a major scientific cancer research programme has been established at the Institute, and we will keep the website updated with presentations and publications that emanate from the major research themes.
